Uur Lodge
Fish from a warm base with real beds, hot meals and quick access to proven pools. Best if you want comfort at the end of every day on the water. The lodge sleeps six guests at a time, never more. Fixed 7-day program at $5,000 per person.
Friends of the Uur
Come back and you are no longer just a guest. Returning visitors become Friends of the Uur, with special tariffs and the freedom to fish the river without a guide. Already a Friend? Mention it in your request.

One base, a whole river system to fish.
A river system, not a single river
From the lodge you fish both big water and small. The wide main river holds taimen and lenok, while smaller side rivers and quiet channels fish beautifully on lighter gear. You choose each morning, without moving camp.
By horse
Ride out with a guide to quiet pools that no road reaches.
By vehicle
Our 4x4s cover long stretches of river fast, so you spend the day fishing, not traveling.
By boat
Drift the bigger water and cast to banks you cannot reach on foot.
Taimen
The one you travel for. A predator that can pass a meter long, taken on big streamers and mouse patterns skated across the surface at dusk.
Lenok
The river’s bread and butter. Aggressive, hard fighting and everywhere, happy to eat streamers and dry flies alike.
Grayling
Pure fun on the light rod. Dry flies in the quiet side channels while the big rods rest.
Bring a heavy rod for taimen and a light one for the rest, or ask us about gear.
Rules of the river
Fly or spin, both are welcome. We keep fly and spin anglers in separate groups, unless you book as a private group.
Single barbless hooks, always.
Every fish swims back. Strictly catch and release.
Permits arranged and carried for you.
We fish as guests of the valley, with respect for the water and the people who live by it.

Uur Lodge
Land in Ulaanbaatar. We fly you north and drive you to the river. Door to door in under a day.
The people of the valley
The Uur valley is home, not a destination. Our guides grew up on these rivers, and the herder families nearby are our neighbors. Evenings at the lodge come with stories and slow food, and if you are curious about life on the steppe, a visit to a family ger is always close by.
Beyond the fishing
The week is yours. Ride into the hills, visit a herder family, take a rest day in the valley or connect onward to another trip in Mongolia. Ask, and we will plan it.

One plan covers your days on the water and everything around them.
Guided fishing. Local guides who know every bend of these rivers.
All meals. Three home-cooked meals a day, at the lodge or by the fire.
Your stay. Warm lodge rooms with real beds on the bank of the Uur.
All transfers. The domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar and our 4x4s to the river.
Permits arranged. Fishing permits and special zone paperwork, handled by us.
Catch and release. Barbless hooks, and every taimen swims back.
Not included: international flights, alcohol, rental fishing gear and travel insurance. Ask us and we will help you arrange them.

Deposit, not payment
Nothing is paid online. Once we confirm availability and you approve the plan, a deposit secures your dates.
Permits handled
Fishing permits and special zone paperwork are arranged before you land in Mongolia.
Door to river
Less than a day from landing in Ulaanbaatar to the river. We arrange the domestic flight and every drive from there.
If plans change
Tell us early and we move your dates where we can. We recommend travel insurance that covers remote travel.

3. A small deposit secures your dates. Then we go fishing.
Good to know
Only six guests stay at the lodge at a time. We stay small on purpose, caring for large waters while we enjoy them.
The lodge week is a fixed 7-day program at $4,000 per person.
