What's Included in Your Adventure

Every journey we create is built from the ground up, tailored to you. We take care of the details so you can focus on the experience. Please read through your itinerary carefully before your trip — it's been put together with a lot of thought.

Your adventure includes:

- All in-country transportation for the duration of your trip

- All accommodation and meals as outlined in your personal itinerary, marked as Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), and Dinner (D)

- Accommodation is based on double occupancy or shared ger arrangements, depending on the trip. Single supplements are available — just ask us

- All activity and entrance fees listed in your itinerary

Not included in your adventure:

- International flights to and from Mongolia

- Visa and entry fees

- Valid travel insurance including emergency medical evacuation coverage (mandatory — see below)

- Loss, theft, or damage to cameras, electronics, or personal belongings

- Personal spending such as laundry, drinks, alcohol, phone calls, or optional activities not in your itinerary

- A sleeping bag and sleeping mat are required on most trips — these will not be provided

- A riding helmet is required on trips involving horseback riding — these will not be provided

- Tips and gratuities for your guides and local hosts

Booking Terms

Your spot is confirmed once your deposit has been received and our team has sent you a booking confirmation.

We build every itinerary with care, but adventure sometimes requires flexibility. Any changes to your itinerary — before or during the trip — may involve additional costs.

The safety of everyone in our group is always our first priority. Beyond The Steppe reserves the right to adjust or modify any itinerary if weather, road conditions, or other safety-related circumstances require it. We know this land well, and we'll always make the call that keeps you safe.

Payments & Cancellations

Payment schedule:

- A non-refundable deposit of $500 USD is required at the time of booking to secure your spot

- 50% of the remaining balance is due no later than 6 months before your departure date

- The final 50% balance must be paid at least 3 months before your departure date

- Missing a payment deadline may result in losing your reserved spot

All payments are accepted in USD or MNT (Mongolian Tögrög). Any bank transfer fees, currency conversion charges, or transaction costs are the responsibility of the traveler. Cancellation terms:

More than 3 months before departure: Your $500 USD deposit is non-refundable. All other payments made (minus applicable fees) will be refunded in full.

Within 3 months of departure: No refund will be issued for any payments made.

We're unable to offer refunds if you miss your flight, are denied boarding, or cannot travel for reasons beyond our control. We strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance to protect yourself in these situations.

Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the start date of your trip. Beyond The Steppe cannot be held responsible for issues arising from expired or invalid travel documents.

Travel Insurance

Travel in Mongolia is extraordinary — and it does carry inherent risks, including remote locations, unpredictable weather, and limited access to medical facilities in some areas.

Travel insurance that includes emergency medical evacuation is mandatory for all Beyond The Steppe adventures, without exception.

We are partners of Global Rescue, a trusted provider that specialises in exactly this kind of coverage for remote travel. You can find our partner here

We also strongly recommend a policy that includes trip cancellation protection, in case unexpected circumstances such as, illness, injury, family emergencies force you to cancel.
